A recent commission to make a full-size dining table based on my Kei coffee table. Comfortably seats 6-8 people. Made in burr oak with walnut butterfly joints. Book-matched boards form the highly-charactered top that sits upon a base with a tapered design. The bench has a curved hand-sculpted top and legs that harmonize with the Kei table design.
One of my new pieces “Delven” side table in white ash that I will be showing at Art in Action at Waterperry house, Oxfordshire, this weekend 17-20th July, where I will also be demonstrating some of the techniques I use to make furniture.
This table was made from 222 year old oak tree from the Blenheim Palace estate. The table is part of a touring exhibition of pieces made from the “One Oak Tree”. The aim of the project is to increase understanding of sustainable woodland management.
